Leal Engineering was responsible for the design & project management of the installation of a 5.7MVA Diesel Generator backup power plant installed at a PepsiCO production site.

Three 1.9MVA Cummins gensets equipped with 11KV alternators, thus removing the need for step-up transformers.

Leal Engineering was appointed to carry out the turnkey 400V power distribution installation at the ButtaNutt green-field plant in Paarl.

This included:

• Design & project management of installation

• The design and manufacture of a 2500A distribution board with generator auto-changeover incorporated.

• The design and manufacture of a numerous smaller distribution boards throughout the plant

• Supply & installation of 700KVA, 400V diesel generator

• Supply & installation of 300KVA duel-conversion UPS

• Supply and installation of power cabling to all downstream equipment

Three systems, each installed at a one of the site's sub-stations, a 1MW unit for the packaging plant 1, 1MW for packaging plant 2 and a 500KW for the utilities and blending plant.

Leal Engineering also manufactured the UPS supply & bypass DB's.

Upgrade of the Halewood Breweries sub-station 2 to 1,000KVA

Supply and installation of 1MVA mini-sub, refurbishing of the sub-station civils and manufacture & installation of new distribution boards.

Upgrade of site lighting to OSH act requirements

Leal Engineering responsible for lighting design, as-well-as supply and installation of light fittings and entire lighting installation (i.e. hangers, truninking, DB's etc.)

Supply & installation of PLC-controlled Air-Compressor plant control system.

Siemens S7-300 PLC control system interfacing with existing three site air-compressors to ensure auto start-up of the air-plant after a power failure.

The is also responsible with bringing additional air-compressors online when required.
